Bruce O’Hara, PhD
Bruce O’Hara, PhD, is a Professor of Biology at the University of Kentucky and Co-founder of Signal Solutions LLC.
He obtained his PhD in Human and Mammalian Genetics from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and he spent twelve years at the Stanford University Center for Sleep and Circadian Neurobiology where he established a research program directed towards an understanding of sleep using higher throughput behavioral and genomic methodologies. He has over 25 years of experience in mouse genetics and mouse behavior and over 50 publications in areas ranging from the effects of drugs to large-scale genetic screens, including those that utilize the piezoelectric sleep-wake monitoring system commercialized by Signal Solutions.

Kevin Donohue, PhD
Kevin Donohue, PhD, is the Databeam Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Kentucky and Co-founder of Signal Solutions LLC.
He has over 25 years of experience in research work related to signal processing systems with applications in medical imaging, biomedical signal analysis, non-destructive evaluation, radar detection, and audio sensor networks with over $4 million of funding in these areas and over 100 technical publications. He is the primary technical expert in the company involved with consulting and product development.

Mike Lhamon, PhD, MBA
Mike Lhamon, PhD, MBA is co-owner of Signal Solutions LLC, Two Dimensional Instruments LLC, and sole owner of Digital Key Consulting LLC. He has over 20 years in research, electronic design and product development, including 10 years of applied research at Lexmark International.
His accomplishments include 15 patents and more than 50 publications. While at Lexmark, he received numerous awards including Best New Business Application, patents and an MBA scholarship in 2007. During the past 6 years, he has managed, developed and released over 20 products for commercial use including several components for Signal Solutions.
Over 20 years in research, electronic design and product development including 10 years of applied research. His primary role in the company is new product planning, design, manufacturing, strategic business development and market positioning.
Rebecca Bernat, PhD
Rebecca Bernat, PhD has over 20 years of experience conducting, managing, and supporting applied and basic biological research.
She has worked at large and small pharmaceutical companies supporting drug development for neurodegenerative, viral, and inflammatory diseases; in academic labs in the areas of sleep, basic cell biology, and human genomics; and now at Signal Solutions, focused on the development of new and innovative animal behavior research tools.
At Signal Solutions, Dr. Bernat is involved in
conducting noninvasive sleep experiments, testing new products and applications, providing customer support, developing marketing and informational material, and grant writing.
